Tristan Ianiero is no stranger to the stage, and continues to break down barriers for male dancers. He became one of the first ever youth males to compete and perform in a National Dance Council of America professional showcase in the history of the NDCA at the 2019 South Open Dancesport Championships. Tristan, who is originally from Toronto, has been dancing for eight years. He started his dance training at his mother’s studio, Art & Soul Dance Company, and has competed all over North America. Tristan has acquired two national titles: Mini Male Best Dancer - 2015, and Junior Male Best Dancer – 2017.

At 16 years old, Tristan is recognized as one of the best young dancers in the world. He has worked and performed both on the live stage and on TV. Yet, he remains grounded and disciplined, because he wants to reach his full potential as an artist. Tristan became a professional on the only season of Dancing with the Stars Juniors. He was partnered with youth celebrity personality, Honey Boo Boo, and they placed 8th mentored under DWTS pro, Artem.

He continues to establish himself in many different styles of dance, including ballroom. Ianiero helped to make history at the 2019 South Open Dancesport Championships. He was one of the first youth males to perform in an NDCA professional showcase, and the very first male to ever compete in the Alternative Styles division. Tristan Ianiero continues to make history within the competition as one of the competition’s first “South Open Stars.” That exclusive group is composed of years past featured performers and many other talented youth dancers that align with South Open’s mission. South Open is grateful to have Tristan as an exclusive member of their family and is honored to provide a platform for dancers of all styles to participate in this new experience.
