The South Open Dancesport Championships continues to provide an exceptional new and magical experience every year. The best dance experience in America is now paired with the best new training experience in America. We’re so excited to announce the first-ever multi-style dance convention paired with a professional NDCA competition. The Style Dance Convention is brand new this year at the South Open Dancesport Championships, and will align with the competition schedule!

The Style Dance Convention is created by one of the Championships’ very own executive staff members. The convention was designed to create accessible and exciting opportunities for all dancers to experience all the wonderful facets of a professional ballroom event and an enriched training experience. Every year the competition has offered ballroom workshops, but this is the first year the classes will be built into an official convention. Take authentic ballroom classes with Dancesport Legends and experience a magical event!

For the first Style Dance convention the class list will include multiple styles such as jazz, contemporary, technique, and of course ballroom taught by industry professionals and world-class coaches! With South Open being the first professional NDCA competition to have a youth alternative division that features our beloved neighboring dance styles, the convention will give many dancers the opportunity to showcase their style while being immersed in the ballroom world.

The Convention and Competition are events that you do not want to miss! Every year at the Championships is a special, magical, and unique experience. The Ballroom alone is almost 30,000 square feet. South Open prides itself on being unique and best in class. At our event you’ll see high-profile professionals dance alongside hard-working students in competitions of every ballroom style as well as alternative divisions, high-quality master classes in a full-on brand new convention setting, cash prizes and awards, themed days, formal dinners, a professional Gala, and more!
