As you continue through your Style journey, here are some time saving hacks and important tips to remember!

  • Sipping water through a straw will help you drink more water and stay hydrated during rehearsal

  • Creating a relaxing nighttime ritual before a big performance or rehearsal can help you stay centered and decrease anxiety and nerves

  • Pack your dance bag ahead of time, leaving all your stuff in a mess around your room can make leaving for rehearsals or performances extremely stressful

  • Create a schedule - it can be hard to manage your time in between classes, dancing, and social life so try getting a planner and jot down any and all important events weekly and monthly

  • Minimize distractions - apps like Tik Tok and Instagram can be addicting, however it’s important to be able to focus on what tasks you need to do like practicing dance. Try setting limits on distracting apps/

  • Have a solid morning routine. Morning routines are very important as they can help you start your day on the right foot. Things in your morning routine can include praying, washing your face, or writing a to-do list!

  • Create a competition day checklist- this will help you make sure that you don’t forget any specific items you may need like bobby pins, or lint rollers or Advil

  • Set aside time to spend away from your responsibilities. A dancer’s life can be very hectic, but it’s important to prioritize other areas of your life such as relationships with your friends and family.

  • Invest into a journal in which you can jot down daily thoughts, goals, and dreams. It’s helpful to write things down rather than depend on your head.

  • Test out makeup looks in advance before your competition. Sometimes, looks you have planned out in your head don’t translate well on your face! By practicing you can be prepared for any necessary changes!

We hope this helps as we know schedules and life in general can get crazy!
