Quotes are powerful. The reason I love quotes so much is because of how relatable they can be. I admire how a bunch of words neatly put together can resonate so much power and inspiration within me.
If you’re in need of a pick-me-up, here’s a list of short inspirational quotes to write on your vision board, or even for your next Instagram bio.
“Begin anywhere.” – John Cage
“Begin anywhere” means that the only beginning point is the one you choose to start from. So, in case you have been holding back from accomplishing something because you thought it wasn’t the “right” time, remember that you get to decide when to start and when that right time happens.
Whatever you do, do it well. – Walt Disney
This quote is pretty much synonymous with saying hard works pays off. Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter if you are always successful, what matters is the real effort and hard work that you put into accomplishing your goals.
What we think, we become. – Buddha
Control your mind and you will dictate your life. Either you let your thoughts hold you captive and hold you back or you use them to set you free and achieve your goals.
All limitations are self-imposed. – Oliver Wendell Holmes
Believe that your potential is limitless, and you will have limitless possibilities to grow.
Tough times never last but tough people do. – Robert H. Schiuller
This quote is about perseverance. Tough times come and go and the people who can weather these tough times are sufficiently tough to handle just about anything.
“Stay close to anything that makes you glad you are alive.” – Hafez
Happiness is one of the best feelings in life but also the one people seek the most. Make sure you spend your life doing things that you love so that you will be glad you are alive at all times.
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot
Simply put, it is never late to start working on the life you have always wanted. The only thing stopping you is yourself. So why not start now?
“Some days you just have to create your own sunshine.” – Unknown
Life can be tough. Sometimes you have to create your own rules and make your own choices to achieve something. Learn a new skill, buy a new book, start working now on yourself, for yourself.
“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. is telling us about the fact that things you do do not matter, it is how you do them that does. So, it does not matter how big your dreams are, the small things you do in order to achieve them will make you more successful than you think.
And my all-time favorite: “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” – Maya Angelou
Here, Maya Angelou is simply telling us about the importance of being kind, pure of heart, and unselfish. She also talks about how simple gestures like a smile or caring words can make a big difference in someone’s life. You have the power to change someone’s perspective by showing them that you genuinely care. Acts of kindness don’t only have an impact on others; they also have an impact on you. Remember that we rise by lifting others, so bringing happiness to others will consequently bring happiness to you.
