As summer approaches, the beach is irresistible. Whether you’re looking to soak in the sun, enjoy the ocean, or simply just sit in the sand- the beach is a perfect place to spend your day. But let’s face the facts, nobody wants to be sunburnt- especially if you spend a lot of time on the stage. Sunburn can also cause huge problems to your skin and overall well-being. We’ve collected a list of the best sunscreens that have the seal of approval from Dermatologists to keep you glowing and protected as long as the sun will shine!

Let’s start with how to choose and use the best sunscreen!

When searching for sunscreen, make sure you look for the SPF label. Seeing that label ensures that the sunscreen will protect you against harmful rays. Dermatologist Lauren Ploch, M.D. suggests using SPF 30 and higher. Ploch also recommends going for lotions rather than sprays and finding water-resistant options!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen

This product has a high SPF, ensuring a wonderful level of protection for your skin. Users say that this sunscreen is non-greasy and absorbs fast-- making it easy to reapply and keep yourself protected.

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive SPF 30+

This is the perfect sunscreen for anyone with sensitive skin! This sunscreen has no chemicals, parabens, or fragrances. Dr. Ploch says, “the bottle also turns blue when there is UV exposure, so it’s a great reminder to reapply.”

CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50

This sunscreen is free of parabens and oil, doubling as a moisturizer. This is a great option for folks who dread the feeling of sunscreen; as this one proves to be light and comfortable on skin (while still providing protection).

All of these products are available on Amazon, as well as major retailers across the country. When practicing safe sun, the only bad sunscreen-- is not using one.

This summer, let’s pledge to protect our skin!
