One of the world’s most beloved dance styles has tons of benefits that you may not even know. Ballet is for everyone and can significantly increase agility and performance in multiple different sports. Here are some of the incredible benefits that come with learning ballet.

Ballet has been known to improve posture.

In this last year especially, humans have spent an unnatural amount of time looking at screens or being stuck at home. Believe it or not, that can have adverse effects on posture. But do not worry- it is not permanent. Ballet classes (even just a few) can help your body develop a healthy posture, which improves your balance and coordination!

Doing ballet can help build muscles and agility.

Ballet requires an intense amount of strength and coordination. Throughout time, your body will gain muscle and agility due to the cardiovascular skills and strength that ballet demands. This is why we oftentimes see other sports taking ballet classes!

Ballet stimulates our creativity.

Creativity is something that all of us have-- but not everyone has utilized it. Ballet allows for a lot of freedom of expression and emotion. You may be asked to improvise or even lead a combination. Learning to express yourself through dance is extremely powerful and helps you become more confident and sure of your abilities.

Ballet releases Endorphins (Happy Hormones).

As with any exercise or dance, ballet releases hormones that positively impact your mood. You may have had a terrible day at work or school- but coming to ballet may turn it all around. Additionally, classical music, often used for ballet, has been known to have a calming effect on the brain. Ballet is good for your mental and physical health!

We hope that this has inspired you to take up a new skill and expand your dancing horizons!
